This privately owned two bedroom chalet offers stunning views over the lake and towards the mountains.

Set on two levels, the ground floor has an open plan lounge area, dining suite, fully equipped kitchen with coffee machine and dishwasher, second bedroom, main bathroom and European laundry with drying facilities for your boots and gloves after a day in the snow.
Upstairs is the spacious master bedroom with gorgeous lake and mountain views and ensuite with bath to relax in after a busy day exploring the region. There is a secure storage room at the front of the property for all your ski and snowboard gear or your mountain bike in the summer months.

Throughout winter guests can relax by the gas fireplace after a day on the slopes, while during the warmer months they can enjoy their surrounds from the deck overlooking the water.

Crackenback is situated on the Alpine Way between Thredbo and Jindabyne, with easy access to the Ski Tube next door that makes getting to Perisher a mere 10 minute train ride.

Guests have access to restaurants, luxury spa, gym, tennis courts, indoor pool and sauna and other outdoor activities including golf, trout fishing and even Segway tours. Please note some activities may incur costs.

Ideal for families or groups of friends, this accommodation is the perfect choice from which to enjoy an alpine experience.

This us our 5th stay at Stillwater Chalet A. It was nice just to chill at the property for a change instead of using it as a base to go skiing. Appreciate the owners responding to our prior feedback and buying more plates,glasses etc to make our stay even better.

What a perfect location on the water, wonderful mountains outlook with ducks, kangaroos, dear. Chalet has beautifully quality finishes, heated bathroom floors my favourite, large bedrooms, excellent selection of appliances. Ive been coming to Lake Crackenback for over 30 years and it never disappoints, great facilities, well designed, great location. This particular Chalet is a more recent addition and does not disappoint. My only negative was we didn’t have WiFi, so not Netflix or Disney. 😩

A little bit of paradise

First & subsequent impressions - WOW! Honestly speaking, this is one of the places we have stayed at where expectations were exceeded. Having driven up from Sydney, our family of 4 were tired and hungry, so were delighted to find The Larder cafe could accomodate us at 5pm for a good hearty dinner. Pizza/pasta/fish n chips, and a good glass of wine... But the best bit? The house. Amazing views, comfy beds, bath, well appointed kitchen, a fire inside, fire pit and BBQ outside. 4 nights of HEAVEN!

Beautiful stay ...

We stayed four nights in November 2021. The place was clean and had all the modern comfort except for Wi-Fi in the property. There is plenty to do around the property, including walks, biking, etc. It is a stone throw away from Thredbo (about 15km) and about 20km to Jindabyne. The only thing that the property can improve on is the BBQ. It has been weathered, and no cleaning product was available to clean the BBQ. Also, don't forget to bring along some paper towels and tissue paper.

Stunning Apartment

This has to be one of the nicest apartments I have stayed in anywhere in the world. Decor was modern and comfortable with a warming gas fire. From the deck you can admire the view of the forested hills and watch deer and kangaroos coming down to graze by the pond. Mountain bikes can be hired within the resort and there is a well laid out biking trail along the beautiful Thredbo River. Other facilities in the resort include a restaurant, archery, golf and kayaks. The apartment is in a lovely tranquil setting and makes an ideal base.

The Chalet is in a great location down the quiet end of the ‘resort’. Although there is some construction occurring next door we stayed over a weekend so we weren’t bothered. I expect during the week would be a different story but the build looked not too far off completion. You are right on the lake which was lovely. The beds were nice and comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked with all the little touches. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved the location. It was within lake crackenback, although surrounded by other chalets once you were inside it was so peaceful with the water right out the back door you wouldn't even know that there were others around you. Close to the resort and its ameneties and a quick drive to everywhere else. Perfect place for a family to stay and getaway from the city. Will definately come back again.

Stillwater Chalet A was 5* in terms of quality of accommodation and location. Only metres from the water's edge, our son enjoyed the kangaroos, ducks, waterhens and the deer pack running past. Very peaceful with great views of the snow capped mountains. It has been styled very well, great space and plenty of room to lounge around, plus parents get their own "retreat" bedroom upstairs with ensuite bath/shower. Highly recommended and would return, but also acknowledge it's not exactly "cheap", so the standard is commensurate with the tariff charged.
